About this Course

Bees are essential pollinators and keeping a hive is one of the most rewarding things you can do for your garden and local ecosystem. This full-day introduction gives you everything you need to start your first colony with confidence.

You will learn:
• Honeybee biology and colony dynamics
• Hive types: Langstroth, Warre, and top-bar compared
• Sourcing your first bees: packages, nucs, and swarms
• Hive inspections: what to look for and how often
• Reading brood, identifying the queen, and spotting disease
• Integrated pest management — treatment-free approaches
• Honey harvesting and processing basics
• Local regulations and good neighbour practices

We will suit up and inspect a live hive together. All protective gear provided.
